Important Information about Generic Zantac

You should not use Zantac if you have an allergy to ranitidine. Before using Zantac or ranitidine, inform your doctor of all drugs that you are taking such as triazolam to make sure that none of them would be interacting with it.

Inform your doctor of all medical conditions that you are being treated for, especially if you have liver disease, kidney disease and porphyria. If you have any of these, your dose may have to be changed or adjusted.

The use of Zantac could increase the risk of developing pneumonia. Discuss your individual risk of getting pneumonia.

Avoid drinking alcohol when using Zantac as alcohol can increase the risk of getting your stomach damaged. It could take up to eight weeks before Zantac can heal your ulcer/s.

Dosage and Administration of Generic Zantac

Make sure that you would not be chewing, breaking or crushing the 25-milligram Zantac effervescent tablet. Also, do not dissolve it on your tongue.
